Botulinum toxin, or also known as botox, is a safe and effective treatment to reduce the facial wrinkles and fine lines such as crow's feet and frown lines. Botox is also useful in treating a variety of medical conditions including eye squints, migraines, excess sweating and leaky bladders. Injection of botox into the muscles under facial wrinkles causes relaxation of those muscles, resulting in the smoothing of the overlying skin. Smoothing of wrinkles is usually visible three days after treatment and is maximally visible two weeks following injection.
Fillers are soft tissue that is injected into your skin in order to plump that area to the point where the wrinkles, fine lines, or fold is gone which results in smoother appearance. Some people may need more than one injection to achieve the wrinkle-smoothing effect. Depending on the type of filler, the effects can last anywhere from six months to two years; for semi-permanent or permanent fillers, the effects can last up to five years, and there are reports of even longer-lasting results.
